Rich text editor
Part of the data acquisition in onion.net editor takes place over the flexible progressive forms . A by far greater part however is done using the rich text editor , which is also frequently referred to as “ WYSIWYG editor ”.
“WYSIWYG” is the acronym for the principle of “What You See Is What You Get”. With the concrete WYSIWYG, a document is displayed on the screen during processing exactly how it looks when output via another device, for example a printer. The rich text editor serves another purpose in the onion.net editor: Users can enter contents without any knowledge of programming , in a similar way to how they are used to doing it from their word-processing program, for example Microsoft Word. The contents entered integrate smoothly into the output. This means, for the entering of contents of a website for example, that these contents look as prescribed by the style specifications of the website.
The following formatting options are available among others:
- Lists and tables
- Paragraphs and headings
- Create links
- Insert graphics
- In-line text emphasis (including bold, italics, subscript and superscript, acronyms and abbreviations, source texts, examples)
- Insert special characters
By the way: If you need to insert texts which already exist as a Word document, then is this no problem. The onion.net editor cleans up the text automatically when copying, meaning that no unwanted formatting is carried over.
