Extranets
An extranet is a part of the World Wide Web requiring an authentication in order to be accessed. Generally speaking there is a set group of (internal and external) users which may access the extranet. Extranets serve for the providing of information to be made accessible for example to companies, customers or partners, but not for the public.
The onion.net system allows such extranets to be set up via the standard user and rights management. This is not just limited to the users working directly with the system, but can also cover all users very broadly who come into contact with the system, so also with a website which runs on an onion.net system. Groups can be created in a very simple manner whose rights supply information about the visibility of website contents. Users requesting access to the extranet must first of all log on. If the log-on is successful, then access is granted, otherwise it is denied.
