Data privacy statement

KPS digital GmbH takes the protection of your personal data very serious.

Strict German and European regulations are as a basis and implemented as the foundation of data privacy. Data collected during your visit are of course governed by valid provisions and will be neither published nor made available to third parties without authorisation.

The following sections briefly and clearly explain the methods applied:

1. Protocols

We record accesses to our HTTP server, as is common practice. Our protocols include the date and time, the designation (URL) of the page you requested and the IP address (number) of the computer from which you called up the site, as well as the information transmitted by the browser on the browser type and operating system.

2. Web analysis and marketing

This website uses a web analysis service that saves so-called "cookies" – text files saved on your computer that enable analysis of the website use. The information that the cookie generates on your use of the website (including the IP address of your computer) is transmitted to a server of the web analysis service and saved there. The web analysis service uses the information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activities for the site operator and to provide other services related to website and internet use. The web analysis service will also transmit this information to third parties when appropriate, to the extent that this is legally required or that third parties process this data on behalf of the web analysis service. The web analysis service will not in any case link your IP address to other data from the web analysis service. You can set your browser software to prevent the installation of cookies; however, it must be pointed out that this may limit the use of the functions on this website. By using this website, you grant consent for the web analysis service to process the data collected about you in the way described above and for the purpose described above.

3. Newsletter and press mailing list

To sign up for the onion.net newsletter service, we need at least the E-mail address to which we should send the newsletter. Other information is voluntary; it will be used to approach you personally and to be able to clarify any questions about your E-mail address.
We request that journalists indicate their affiliation by clicking the field "Journalist."
To prevent abuse of incorrectly stated E-mail addresses, we use the double opt-in procedure. After registering for the newsletter, you will receive an E-mail from us. In the E-mail, you will need to confirm the specified link to enable the newsletter to be sent to you.
You can cancel your subscription to the getit newsletter at any time by selecting the link at the end of the newsletter or by sending us a short note requesting cancellation.

4. Right of access and contact information

If you would like to get in touch with us, please keep in mind that information transmitted in unencrypted E-mails can be seen and manipulated by third parties. Thus confidential information should be encrypted or sent by regular mail.
You also have the option of viewing your saved, personal data and correcting, blocking or deleting incorrect data.
If you would like information on the data or if you would like to correct or delete personal data, our data protection specialist Martin Polifke would be happy to help.
